I believe that all of the schools play a great part in the world of psychology. The sociocultural school seems to be playing a big part in my life. Almost everything I do has been effected by my culture. I am testing the cognitive school to see if can have an effect on my life. We shall see.
I'm sure all the schools play a role in people's lives. But i think that the sociocultural school plays the biggest role in my life. My culture and beliefs affect all the actions and things i do for the most part. But I do think it would be cool if the cognitive school actually worked.
i would have to say that either sociocultural or cognitive have one of the biggest impacts on people. but also i think there is influence from all the school. just some of them are a little bit more influential.
I say socioculture and cognitive. Your culture defines you and it's the traditions and beliefs you were born and raised with that created what and who you are. Cognitive because you can allow your mind to overcome challenges in life and you can change your habits
I think the humanistic school is the biggest agent in our lives. I do believe there are many things that effect our decisions and behavior such as our environment, and our trials and errors, but in the end, we make our own decisions, and we have control over our own destiny, regardless of the other aspects in our lives.
I believe that all of the schools of psychology have some truth in them, but believe that there are some things in each of the schools that is corrupt, or to say... not right. The School that i would say has the most truth is the Humanistic school because you are responsible for the way that you react to situations, and the way that you take to different environments.
I agree most with the neurobiological point of view. It is the most straight forward, logical and easiest explanation of why people do what they do. It helps me feel completely normal for any weird things that I do because I know I can't help it. The chemicals in my brain are causing me to do it(:
I think all the schools of psychology have a big role in everyone. Here in Orem we live in a society where sociocultural has a role. In the Mormon culture we are expected to finish school and go to college. Then get a good job and have a family. Our families create environments where these things are important and are expected of us. The culture and environment we are exposed to has a great influence on us.
I think that the sociocultural school plays a big part in my life. My life would be completely different if I lived in Arizona. I probably wouldn't have the same religion I do now, different friends, and a different hobbies. Everything that we say or do is affected by sociocultural.
I think that here in orem, the sociocultural school of psychology plays a huge role, because it affects all of us and the decisions we make, how we act, and just basically who we are.
I'm very humanistic, but I also strongly believe in the sociocultural family. I think everyone comes out with some good in their system, but they can get it raised out of them by the environment that they grow up in. Thats where the sociocultural part comes in for me at least.

I'd have to say I'm of the behavioral school. Due to social and physical awkwardness during elementary school, I was teased quite a bit. As such, those six years were quite a hellish experience. Of course, that was followed by junior high which took the hellishness to a new level. As a result, I am now a somewhat cynical, phobia-overwhelmed person who keeps a distance from social activities.
i believe that humanistic plays the biggest role in my life, cause i just think that in the end we are the ones who make the decison! but thats just my opinion
Honestly it's hard to pick just one because every school has important attributes to make us the person we are. If i had to pick one it would probably be cognitive.
ahhh...all of the schools play huge roles, but...i think that the one that effects the majority of people is the humanistic school. in my opinion, we make our own decisions and are responsible for them. our environmment and the people around us effect our decisions, but we ARE the ones that make the final call on everything.
I agree with everyone that the sociocultural school plays a large effect on where we live. Since i've lived in so many different places and met so many different people I think that the cognitive school plays the biggest role in my life because my mind knows how to overcome challenges and I know what I want.
cognitive. because I know that you can control yourself through thoughts you really are what you think if you tell yourself you love cinnamon bears consistently then you will love cinnamon bears.
I believe that the school i most agree with is the sociocultural. When i lived in California many people were swearing as well as fighting more than i see here in Utah. As I continue to live in a Mormon culture I can see that there are less fighting and swearing. I can see that culture plays a large part in what we do or say today.
I also beleive that the sociocultural has a big influence on my life. This kinda goes back to nature vs. nurture. Culture has a big influence on peoples lives.
I think all schools play a major role in our lives but I believe sociocultural has the biggest impact in my life. I don't think I would have turned out the way I did if I didn't live in utah and grow up in mormonville!
I think they are all very important, but sociocultural has definatly been a big influence in my life.I grew up in a neighborhood with the majority population of my race ,surrounded by very similar cultures and beliefs and i think it really shapes who i am today.
I like cognitive. Just because I like the moto "you are what you think." I can definately relate that to sports. I play soccer so I can definataly see how that fits.
Cognitive by far. What you think is what you are. There is really no other way to put it in my mind.
If you are SERIOUSLY thinking about murdering someone, then you are a murderer. You may not actually do it, and no one has to know that you are thinking about it, but deep down the influence to do so is there.
