B2 Question #6

If you do something immoral while having a lucid dream, when you wake up, should you feel guilty about it?

No. I think that if you can control your dream you should be able to do what you want. It's no different then your everyday thoughts, and everyone has thoughts they would never share with another person. These thoughts occur all the time, and when these thoughts are over you simply push them aside and move on. You shouldn't feel guilty about something that occurs naturally.

I think you shouldn't feel guilty. Dreams start out random most of the time and by the time you know you're lucid dreaming, it could be too late. For example like if you were at a wrong place in a dream, then realized it was lucid, then it could be hard to escape if you were already tempted. Hah I don't really know how to explain it any better.

This is a hard one for me because it depends on the situation. If you are do that to escape or to satisfy yourself then I think that this is a personal decision but that should probably be fixed because it could alter reality in your mind. Often times thoughts enter then leave and if the dream is like that then I think it is best just to push it out and not feel guilty. As long as you don't keep dreaming like this.

I don't think you should feel guilty, if you even remember it at all. Often times we forget about our dreams, even if they are lucid. How can you feel guilty about doing something you don't remember? It also depends on the situation. In a lucid dream you could be in situations you would never put yourself in, in reality. You could even be someone other than yourself. If you choose to do something immoral in a situation like this, I don't think it should be held to you. In the end, I think it only matters how much it affects the real world, because if you did and you remember, but it doesn't change anything, it doesn't matter.

I think that you should feel guilty. When you are lucid dreaming you are in complete control of the dream. This means that it is just as bad as actually performing the immoral act. Just because it doesn't have consequences in the real world doesn't make it okay.

If you do something immoral while having a lucid dream shouldn't make you feel guilty because it's not really happening, it's just a dream. You don't have to tell the whole world about your dream either, because it may be really personal to you and not to anyone else. So, I think anyone is ok to do something immoral while having a lucid dream.

I don't think you should feel guilty after you wake up from a lucid dream. Your controlling your dream, so who knows maybe there wants and needs that you want in reality. In a way you should feel happy depending on what the dream was about.

This is a tough question. Honestly, I'd love to say that we shouldn't feel guilty, but at the same time, I think that we should feel guilty. It all comes down to context and intentions. I think that when we lucid dream, yes we are in control, but I wonder how much control we are really in, and in that case, I really don't feel like we should feel guilty. On the other hand, if we know we are in complete control, and do something immoral, than yes, we had the true intentions, and should feel guilty. Bottom line, if we do something immoral in a lucid dream and we do it with full knowledge that we're doing it, then we should feel guilty.

To me it doesn't seem like you should feel guilty, you didn't really do the act of immorality. These thoughts are just part of the "natural man." These thoughts happen to the best of us. Not everyone is perfect all the time.

I don't think you should feel guilty, because it's just a dream and its's not like you are doing it in real life. Also in your dreams you are free to do what you want.

I think that you should feel guilty. While in a lucid dream you are in complete control. You can do whatever your heart desires and if you do immoral thing while being in control you should feel guilty because you are doing what you want.

One should not feel guilty about doing something immoral during a lucid dream. You are not actually participating in an immoral act, therfore there is no reason to feel guilty.

I do not think we should feel guilty about it. It is just in a dream and most of the time we have no control over our dreams. If we are not doing it in real life then it should not matter if you do it in your dream or not.dreams are all very random and they all turn out different, not all of our dreams we can control.

No you should not feel bad at all because even though you can control your dreams when you really try its still hard because most times you cant or don't think about controlling them so they just happen. when they happen its not really your fault so don't have guilt.

i don't think you should. it's your dream and you didn't really do it in real life. maybe if you draem about it and then really do it then it would be bad but not if your jsut dreaming about it. it's like thinking you really want to punch a kid in the face but you don 't really do it. it's the same thing.

You should feel guilty even before you wake up. According to The Bible, "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things." It also says "Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart" or "thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear."
So.. I bet an aul hurts even more in your dreams.

I think you should feel guilty. it is like you every day thoughts. The budist scriptures "as a man thinketh so is he." I think if you can control your dreams and do something immoral than it shows a part of who you really are.

When we go to sleep every night it's hard to be in control of our dreams. This is when our subconscious comes into control and reveals our true desires. This then becomes very hard to control what we dream about. At times I don't think you should wake up feeling guilty because of an immoral dream. In class we learned it is a way for your body to make sure everything is working. But if this dream was brought upon by something you exposed yourself to then and their was an actual desire for it then you should definitely feel guilty.

yes, you should feel guilty. If It is a lucid dream you are choosing what you do. If you wouldn't feel good about choosing that in real life why would you feel good with yourself choosing that it in a dream.

If it is accidental and you aren't controlling, like we talked about how you could, then no. But if you are kind of doing it just because you can and you know how to do what you want in your dreams, then yes.

Morality isn't so clear-cut when it comes to issues like this. How do you separate black from white in so much gray?

No I don't really think so. I mean no one knows what goes on in your dreams, that is something totally and completely private so do what you want. It will be better in a dream then in real life.

I don't think that you should because a dream is a place where you can escape and be able to do whatever you want. And if you do realize that you're having a lucid dream you should take advantage of it because its not like you're doing anything bad in real life.
